| ISLA BEAT RINGERS IN NGDVA TOURNAMENT FINAL |
|
|
|
|
| GFRS Ringers came to the annual NGDVA Tournament with the sole intention of retaining the crown they won convincingly last season. |
|
|
| This however, proved to be a tough task. Strong teams from both North and South Grampian assembled at Kinloss on Sunday 17th May as the 5th annual NGDVA tournament took place. Teams entered this year were GFRS Ringers, Hazelhead 1, Hazelhead 2, Beacon, Caciques, Inverness, Isla and Kinloss. |

| The format was 2 leagues of 4 which was drawn at the start of the day and put the Ringers in with both Hazelhead teams and Inverness. Caciques were drawn against Isla, Kinloss and Beacon in their first time at this event. They made a very good account of themselves and we hope to see them back next year. |

| After a full round of matches GFRS Ringers played Beacon in one semi-final with Isla playing Inverness in the other. The other four teams played off cross-over semi-finals in the plate competition with the two Hazelhead teams then going head to head in the final. Hazelhead 2 narrowly pipped Hazelhead 1 to the massive prize of chocolate!! |

| In two very close semi-finals in the cup competition, Isla narrowly beat Inverness after a titanic struggle and similarly GFRS Ringers defeated Beacon in a match which could have went either way. |
|
| The final was a very close affair with Isla outsmarting the GFRS Ringers to regain the trophy they had won for the first three years. |
|
| There is no question that the Ringers will be uping the ante next season and draughting in additional players to wrestle back the trophy from Isla’s grasp. |

| Will they or anyone else be good enough................ |
